- Gosh, three years since I last tried Second Life and the viewer software is still incredibly unfriendly. Such potential being wasted. #

- Impressive security around the ICC for the Tory conference. Even scuba divers in the canal - not a job I’d like… #
- @podnosh not sure if brightcove do an appropriate package? Any reason you don’t want vimeo, etc, to take the hosting strain? #
- @podnosh on the Fullrange site we use a free flash app called flvplayer.swf.. Comes with the .fla so could poss customize in flash? #
- @abbycorfan and I have left our Tory friends to go recce the hyatt and chat up d.c., we’re taking the rather better route of tropic thunder. #

- Car went in for £200 service. Needs new radiator, cam belt, brake pads, water pump and "drive shaft gaitor". £1400. Fuck. #
- @alexbrooks Suspect a small piece of rubber whose defining characteristic is costing enough to irrigate Uganda. #
- Just collected car and now £1406 worse off. Sole evidence for that money ever existing: engine temp gauge now at 90 degrees. #
- @bounder sadly not. it was the car equivalent of going in for an ingrowing toenail and having a triple bypass instead. #

- Re following from @philcampbell - how can you possibly follow 2,167 people? surely you misunderstand/misuse twitter? confused. #
- #artsfest - photos of rice, ballet, cbso and fireworks - http://tinyurl.com/54ukdp #
- Seems bizarre that the Artfest flickr group is “members only” - is there a tag we can use instead? #

- On way to the rice! Managed to walk from digbeth to victoria square without encountering a single artsfest programme. Not v impressive… #
- As much as I love my 70-200mm f/2.8, it’s Freudian connotations leave me a little self conscious walking around town. #
- Mental note - wide angle lens more appropriate for the rice show.. Now have lots of pictures of individual grains. Lacks grandeur… #
- Think I got some nice photos of the fireworks at artsfest this evening, will tidy up and post tomorrow. Now in hyatt bat for drinks. #

- In room with the worlds top 20 hip replacement surgeons. Their tools bear a staggering correlation to torture equipment in movies. #
- Things that irritate me, #421: completely unnecessary ‘live from the scene’ tv news reports, especially from that bit of grass in westminstr #
- Did you know that you can have your hip joint completely removed and still be able to walk? Your muscles alone are able to support you. Cpol #
- Absolutely furious as just realised my website has been offline for weeks with no warning - thanks XCalibre! Argh! #

- I’ll admit to a certain level of disappointment that I didn’t wake up in a bizarre LHC-induced 11th dimension this morning. #
- Why must all “popular science” writers insist on translating every quantity into a equivalent number of familiar objects? Inane. #
- And absolutely the worst offender is any measurement of length expressed in units of “to the moon and back” #
- Wow, I did not know that the OLPC laptop keyboard has a “geek key” which when pressed shows the source code of the active app. Fantastic! #
- About to watch Aeon Flux. Suspect I may regret it. #
- @podnosh was going to make wry comment but @bounder did a much better job! #
- @marcreeves What purpose does that column serve? Why am I supposed to be entertained that the writer cares not a jot for the facts? #
- @bounder there’s just something so horrifically sapping about the ‘translation into the colloquial’ method of writing about science. ugh. #

- Discovered video version of Deirdre’s Photo Casebook from the Sun. It’s highly addictive. #
- @bounder enjoy! http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/video/article270335.ece #
- @podnosh I could literally watch them all day but @abbycorfan’s demanding the Sopranos. Which has much poorer acting. #
- Just discovered @bounder’s digg post for the Big Picture - http://is.gd/1Tgg - more diggs please! #
- I wish twitter’s “X is following you” emails included their following/follower ratio to save the time clicking through only to delete. #
- OH on Broad Street last night: Tramp 1 to Tramp 2, having picked up discarded bus ticket: “It’s only a fucking *daysaver*!!” #
